英語を見につけるためにまずは肩慣らしで下の英文を読んで日本語訳にしてみましょう。

A line of doors flew open and a lot of men stepped out headlong. They had high hats, healthy pale faces, dark overcoats and shiny boots; they held in their gloved hands thin umbrellas and hastily folded evening papers that resembled stiff, dirty rags of greenish, pinkish, or whitish colour.

シティーからの側近グループ列車は、ブラックホールから激しく急ぎ、ウェスト・エンド駅の汚された薄明かりの中の不一致な研削ラケットで止まりました。

文章を書くのが上手な人は
読書家だったりする。
とてもたくさんの本を読んだりする。

読書を通じ、語彙や表現が
自分の引き出しにストックされる。
ソレと同時に自分の文章のスタイルに
昇華してしまうというもの。

意識せずとも
読んだものというのは
頭の中に蓄積される。
そして、文章を書くときに
自然と表れるものだったりする。

つまり、読書をするということで
英会話における自分の引き出しを
増やすことができる。

とても良い学習法だといえるだろう。

そしてその確認として
文章を書くことを習慣化する。

いきなり文章といっても
なかなかでてこないものだから
日記を書き始めてみる
などの入りからでも
効果を発揮するそうだ。

一日に少しでも
触れることができる
ちょうど良いコンテンツ。

これに慣れていくことで
次のステップに進める。
そうやって英語に触れることに
慣れていくというのが大切なのだろう。
